Director's Note
I’ve always loved art that can make me laugh and cry. The Queen’s Bones is a special sort of play that has the potential to do both. I knew from early on that striking this balance between sad and funny would be my greatest challenge. It really clicked when I remembered the bed time stories my parents read to me growing up. Some were fun some were sad and others were somewhere in between. It struck me that the most important thing with those stories was the flow of the narrative. So i determined to make the Queen’s Bones feel like a best type of bedtime story that could make you laugh and cry.
